Riftbloom Delta

Scholars disagree on Riftbloom Delta’s calamitous provenance. Was it ill-fated geology, alchemical hubris or even divine retribution that caused the land to collapse? Whatever the reason, the mighty River Kabo surged into the newly-formed basin to birth a sprawling oasis. Bracketed by vast deserts to the east and west, the delta now teems with mysterious flora and fauna. Yet the steaming murk also hides tragic evidence of the people who once lived here… and the monuments they built. Those bastions of civilization now lie in ruin, half-sunken in treacherous quagmires, where they wait for the brave and the foolish to discover them once more.
Riftbloom Delta is a hand-drawn, 1000-hex fantasy world map for tabletop adventures of all kinds. You can download high-resolution PDFs for free (pay what you want) over at DriveThruRPG.
The high-resolution PDF downloads include full-colour and printer-friendly versions of the map, as well as labelled and unlabelled versions, so you can play in Riftbloom Delta or in a world of your own design. The full map is 24x32” (61x81cm) but we recommend printing in poster-style segments for easier use at the table.
The geography of this map was inspired by Botswana’s Okavango Delta, a rare endorheic basin. Some names on the labelled versions of the map are derived from a number of Sub-Saharan African languages, including Setswana for the old cities along the former path of the River Kabo, Swahili for the new cities that have sprung up around the delta, and Somali for the desert settlements on the outskirts.
