The Dawncracked Wilds
The Dawncracked Wilds are as rugged as they are ancient. From jagged peaks spring rushing rivers that tumble through vast, undulating plains. No great empires rule here. Folk huddle instead in the few remaining walled cities and soaring towers that punctuate the untamed countryside. Outside these tenuous fortifications the land is perilous and shrouded in myth. They say the world itself was birthed in these very lands—and that the heart of the world still lies somewhere beneath the windswept earth. It would take an unusual courage to seek it out. It would take a greater courage to find it.
The Dawncracked Wilds is a hand-drawn, 1000-hex fantasy world map for tabletop adventures of all kinds. The full map is 24x32” (61x81cm), and you can download high-resolution PDFs for free (pay what you want) over at DriveThruRPG.
The high-resolution PDF downloads include both labelled and unlabelled versions of the map, so you can play in the Dawncracked Wilds or in a world of your own design. We also provide the map in letter-size segments (8.5x11” or 22x28cm) for easier printing and/or sharing with players.
Note that a scale is deliberately excluded for greater flexibility, but 8 miles (12km) per hex makes for a practical size. At that scale (about the size of Iceland) it will take your brave heroes 2-3 weeks to walk the length of the Wilds... assuming all goes well. For a more epic scale, go with 24 miles (36km) per hex (about the size of Japan).
