The Fjords of Lillesangen

A chorus rings out in Lillesangen. Locals call it the “little song”, the comforting, ever-present hum that echoes through the fjords. It is an ancient song that connects all living things—the trees, the birds, the beasts and the many folk who make their homes here. It is a song of growth, a song of joy. But it does something else, too, and on quiet winter’s nights the elders will whisper this sinister truth to anyone brave enough to listen. For the “little song” not only binds the living. It also keeps away the dead. And were the song to stop—were the fjords to break out in deafening, terrifying silence—that would be a very dark day indeed.
